Basic Ultra-light Pilot’s Licence

Complete a minimum of 20 hours of ground school. A minimum of 10 hours of flight training including 5 hours of dual instruction flight time and 2 hours of solo flight time. A minimum of 30 takeoffs and landings, including a minimum of 10 as solo occupant are required.

Enroll for Part 1 and Part 2 together and save one Entry and Placement fee of $600.00.

ELS – English Language Studies (Short Term)

• Join existing academic English language classes at your level. Take core classes in reading, writing and grammar.
Application Fee $100.00
Tuition $656.00 for two weeks $328.00 for each additional week
Student Fees $63.00 per week
• If you attend for less than 7 weeks (1 module), you would not be expected to write final exams unless you choose to.
• Contact info@westav.ca for specific costs and term lengths, terms are from two to ten weeks.

Homestay

• Staying with a Canadian family in homestay offers an opportunity to speak English daily and learn about Canadian family life and culture.
• Includes a private room, 3 meals per day, and laundry facilities.

Cost $220.00 per week

Passenger Carrying Rating

Is an endorsement to the “Basic Ultra-light Pilot’s Licence” which allows for the carrying of passengers. A minimum of 25 hours of flight training is required. Flight training must include a minimum of 15 hours dual instruction flight time, 5 hours solo flight time, and a minimum of 2 hours cross-country flight time.

Enroll for Part 1 and Part 2 together and save one Entry and Placement fee of $600.00.

Flight Test

Applicant must have completed a minimum of 25 hours of flight training in an ultra-light airplane. Flight traing must include a minimum of 15 hours dual intruction flight time, 5 hours solo flight time, and a minimum of 2 hours cross-country flight time.

Note:The listed prices reflect the minimum amount of time required to complete the training programs. More may be required to achieve proficiency for the flight test

Advanced Ultra-light Pilot’s Licence
(passenger carrying)

This program includes the “Passenger Carrying Rating”. Students must complete a minimum of 20 hours of ground school. A minimum of 25 hours of flight training including 5 hours of solo flight time and 2 hours cross country flight time is required. The flight training is carried out in an advanced ultra-light aircraft equipped with “Dynon” state of the art avionics.

PAYMENT

Our programs require minimal financial commitment upfront. Typically you pay for your ground school and books upfront, and then all you have to do is have a valid credit card on file that we can bill after each training session.

PREPAYMENT BONUSES (cash - no credit cards)

For prepayments of $1000.00 you will receive a 2% bonus, (Pay $1000.00 to have $1020.00 on your account).
This is available in multiples of $1000.00 (2000, 3000, 4000 etc.).

  • TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    Medical: It is recommended that the medical declaration be completed before flight training begins to ascertain that you meet the medical standards. Your medical declaration must be completed and submitted to Transport Canada before your instructor can let you fly solo.

    Documents: Required at the time of enrollment or prior to solo flight:
    1. If Canadian born:Passport,Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate.
    2. If born outside Canada,one of the following: Canadian Citizenship Certificate, Canadian Immigration Identification Card, Canada Entry Record, or a Passport.
